Jo Moore

Jo graduated with an AAS in ASL-English Interpreting from Columbus State Community College in June 2012. Jo then received the Ohio Department of Education Associate: Interpreter for the Hearing Impaired License in 2012 and National RID Certification (NIC) in 2015.

Jo is committed to professional development within the field of interpreting and served as Support Staff for both the ’12 State OCRID Conference and ’13 National RID Conference. During 2014 – 2016 Jo served as Support Staff Coordinator on the OCRID State Conference Planning Committee, also coordinating the first OCRID Research Symposium in May 2015. At CSCC, she has continued to mentor students enrolled in the Interpreting Program since its inception in 2012. Utilizing Demand Control-Schema, Jo is a trained Case-Conference Supervision facilitator. Jo is an active volunteer to many community organizations.

Interpreting experience includes business, conference, post-secondary, legal, tactile and low-vision, video relay, social services, correctional, government, music and theatre, accounting, IT, DD, IPV/DV/SA, LGBTQ, medical, K-12, mental health, and religious settings.
